Application And Recycling Of EPE Pearl Cotton

Polyethylene foam wool is a non-cross-linked closed-cell structure, also known as EPE pearl cotton, is a new type of environmentally friendly packaging material. It consists of a large number of independent bubbles produced by the physical foaming of LDPE. It overcomes the shortcomings of common foam rubber which is fragile, deformation and poor recovery. It has the advantages of moisture-proof, shock-proof, sound insulation, heat preservation, good plasticity, toughness, recyclability, environmental protection, strong impact resistance, etc. It also has good chemical resistance. It is an ideal substitute for traditional packaging materials.

EPE pearl cotton foam is a new type of material that never fades due to its special advantages, not only does not pollute the environment, but also can be recycled repeatedly. With the development and application of products, EPE pearl cotton foam will be widely used in packaging and filling materials.

ACERETECH MACHINERY developed the ACS-H series compaction pelletizing machine which is very suitable for recycling EPE pearl cotton. In the past few years, we have supplied more than 6 sets of EPE pearl cotton recycling pelletizing machines to customers in 5 countries including Korea, Japan and Italy.

The belt conveyor is used to feed the EPE waste into the compactor. The feed rate of the conveyor is automatic depending on how full the room of the compactor is.

The rotating blades of the compactor will cut the incoming waste. Frictional heating from the high-speed rotating blades heats up and shrinks the waste below its coalescence point. An optimally designed guide structure compacts the material and guides it into the extruder screw.

The plastic scrap will be fully melted and plasticized in the 36D processing zone. It has a two-zone vacuum degassing system, which is especially suitable for heavy printed films and materials with water content.

For the filtration system, we equip a piston screen changer with a large filter area.

For the pelletizing system we recommend the water ring pelletizing system. The automatic adjustment of the pelletizing head allows to obtain the best pelletizing quality and long running times in the trough to always correct the blade pressure. The speed of the rotating blades is automatically adjusted to the melt extrusion pressure.

Recycled pellets can be used to re-produce pearl cotton products, greatly reducing manufacturers' production costs.
